Busy Season Ahead for Women’s Store

Paul Simon Co Charlotte Style, Philanthropy, Women's Fashion

Exciting things are happening at Paul Simon for Women. Fall has begun and our new merchandise is selling as fast as we can put it on the floor. We had a record breaking Lafayette 148 Fall Trunk Show in August and customers are loving our mix of fall color, sizes and styles in a variety of price ranges.

One event we are most passionate about is the “Look at Her Power” fundraiser for Dress for Success Charlotte on September 15. This evening features shopping, food and program celebrating the opening of The Southern Women’s Show and the achievements of the Dress for Success Charlotte organization.

“It’s such a great, uplifting event that really illustrates how you can change lives,” says Sue Breckenridge, Dress for Success/Charlotte Board Chair.

Our store is proud to be a continuing sponsor of this event over the last 5 years. The emergence of Charlotte’s Dress for Success is highlighted in the August issue of South Park Magazine in an article written by Sam Boykin.

People may not realize that our Owner/President of Paul Simon for Women, Marcia Simon, along with Joan Zimmerman of Southern Shows and a core group of Charlotte leaders, rescued this non-profit organization that had been struggling to stay afloat in 2006.

The mission of Dress for Success is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in their personal lives. The “empowerment” of women is an expression you will hear often in the halls of Charlotte’s Dress for Success boutique and career center located at 500-A Clanton Road.

At Paul Simon for Women, we believe in this mission. We work to empower our own customers by assisting them with smart wardrobe decisions. Whether you are a “stay at home” Mom or a CEO of a company, you can treat yourself to a one-on-one wardrobe consultation with our experienced staff.

Please join Paul Simon for Women’s professional staff when we all attend this once a year event to celebrate not only the beginning of a new season, but the beginning of great careers that have been started and inspired by Dress for Success Charlotte.
